Join Tables
data.join_tables
Overview
When you send a left table, a right table, and join keys, we combine them with inner, left, right, or full semantics — preserving input order, resolving column name collisions by policy, and capping output before a Cartesian explosion. Keys are compared as-is (no type coercion). Do not use this for fuzzy matching or unbounded cross joins.
Silent cardinality surprises and column collisions break pipelines. You pick the join type and collision policy — we stay predictable.
Reliability
STRICT and deterministic; input order is preserved. Validation errors (not retryable — fix input): unequal or empty leftKey/rightKey; invalid joinType; column name collisions when collisionPolicy is error; join output exceeds maxOutputRows; either side over 200,000 rows. With prefix_right, colliding right columns appear prefixed (see warnings).
Context footprint
Returns joined rows plus left/right counts, unmatched counts, and warnings. A successful call costs 1 execution credit.
When to use it
When both tables are in memory and keys match exactly.
For fuzzy matching, type coercion, or joins larger than the row caps.
Scope
Non-goals
- Does not coerce key types
- Does not fuzzy-match keys
- Does not produce unbounded Cartesian output
- Does not read files directly

Input schema
| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| leftRows | array | Yes | Bounded array of 0 through 200000 input row objects keyed by column name, where missing keys count as null. |
| rightRows | array | Yes | Bounded array of 0 through 200000 input row objects keyed by column name, where missing keys count as null. |
| leftKey | array | Yes | Bounded non-empty array of join-key column names compared position by position. |
| rightKey | array | Yes | Bounded non-empty array of join-key column names compared position by position. |
| joinType | string | Yes | Join semantics applied to unmatched rows. |
| rightPrefix | string | No | Prefix applied to colliding right columns; omit it for right_. |
| collisionPolicy | string | No | How overlapping column names are handled; omit it for prefix_right. |
| maxOutputRows | integer | No | Output cap before the join stops; omit it for 100000. |
Output schema
