Validate JSON-LD

web.validate_json_ld

ProductionBounded custom (Class B)Deterministicstrictfastv1.0.0
No network

Overview

You send a JSON-LD document and we confirm it parses as JSON-LD — duplicate keys and all — then, if you name a profile, check the node against a pinned copy of the schema.org rules for an Article, a Product, or an Organization, or against property rules you supply yourself. You get back the types we saw, the contexts the document names, and a finding for every required property that is missing and every recommended one worth adding. A remote @context is noted but never fetched, so this is a completeness check rather than semantic reasoning.

A structured-data check that reaches out to schema.org to do its job is a check that gives you a different answer when the network has a bad day.

Reliability

The same document and the same profile always give the same findings, and nothing leaves the platform — the schema.org rules are a pinned copy held here, so no address is contacted even when the document names one. Worth knowing about scope: the required, recommended, and unknown-property checks look at one node — the first entry of @graph if there is one, otherwise the object itself or the first element of an array — while the type check accepts a match from anywhere in the document. Four failures can stop the call. JSON_LD_INVALID_JSON and JSON_LD_DUPLICATE_KEY mean the text is not valid JSON, or the same key appears twice in one object: fix the document and send it again, and the message names the spot. JSON_LD_NODE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED means it nests past 128 levels or holds more than 10000 objects, so split it before retrying, because the same input fails the same way. JSON_LD_CONTEXT_REMOTE_FORBIDDEN means you asked for remote contexts on a document that names one: turn resolveRemoteContexts off and the same call succeeds with a warning. Bad input is rejected outright too — a missing document, one that is not an object or an array of objects, an unrecognised profile, or a non-boolean switch.

Context footprint

The reply carries findings and type names, never a copy of the document, so it stays small; strictUnknownProperties on a wide node is the one thing that grows it, and maxErrors caps that. A successful call costs 1 execution credit.

When to use it

When you hold the markup and want to know if it parses and looks complete.

When you need a real JSON-LD processor, remote contexts, or HTML pulled apart.

Runs on Jackson, set to reject duplicate keys, over a pinned schema.org rule set.

Scope

Note
We check JSON-LD parses and carries what a pinned profile expects of it.

Non-goals

  • Does not fetch a remote @context, and refuses to pretend otherwise
  • Does not expand, flatten, or reason over the graph the way a JSON-LD processor would
  • Does not fetch a page or pull the markup out of HTML for you
  • Does not check every schema.org type — only the three pinned profiles and your own rules

How we handle your data

Sensitive input, safe output
What this means

This skill may receive sensitive content, but it does not target sensitive data and returns only a structured non-sensitive result.

Squillify guarantees
  • Runs inside Squillify
  • This skill runs inside Squillify.
  • Payloads are not sent to an external service by this skill.
  • Squillify does not permanently store submitted payloads.
  • Telemetry records metadata only, not submitted content.
  • Submitted payloads are not used for training.
  • Submitted payloads are not reviewed by humans.
  • This skill does not target sensitive data.
  • The response does not contain submitted content.
Your responsibility

Squillify does not determine whether submitted content is sensitive. Your application is responsible for deciding what data it is allowed to submit. Your application is responsible for securing the response.

Input schema

FieldTypeRequiredDescription
documentobjectYesPurpose-bound JSON-LD document object with caller-defined vocabulary properties — unconstrained RFC 8259 JSON items.
profilestringNoValidation profile; omit it for syntax_only.
customRulesobjectNoPurpose-bound custom rule object; omit it when no extra required terms apply. It contains from 0 through 256 purpose-bound properties — unconstrained RFC 8259 JSON items.
optionsobjectNoPurpose-bound bounded validation option object; omit it to use safe defaults. It contains from 0 through 256 purpose-bound properties — unconstrained RFC 8259 JSON items.

Output schema

FieldTypeRequiredDescription
validbooleanYesWhether no error-severity JSON-LD finding exists.
profileValidbooleanYesWhether the selected profile requirements pass.
findingsarrayYesBounded array of structured JSON-LD findings. The item shape is defined by the nested schema and the array contains from 0 through 20000 items.
nodeTypesarrayYesBounded array of discovered JSON-LD node types. The item shape is defined by the nested schema and the array contains from 0 through 20000 items.
contextIdentifiersarrayYesBounded array of discovered JSON-LD context identifiers. The item shape is defined by the nested schema and the array contains from 0 through 20000 items.
warningsarrayYesBounded array of non-fatal safe warning strings. The item shape is defined by the nested schema and the array contains from 0 through 20000 items.
_metaobjectYesClosed validation metadata receipt with counts, profile, and truncation flags. Its documented web receipt properties are bounded to 128 entries — unconstrained RFC 8259 JSON items.
